‘Full Metal’ is the new single from Irish producer and multi-instrumentalist Sal Dulu. His approach to music-making is magpie-like; he blends a mixture of genres, influences and sounds into an experimental mesh of music that pushes the boundaries of each genre he wanders into. The tune in particular allows saxophone and vocal to trade off at the centre of the texture, while washes of dreamy synths, trip-hop drums and glitchy electronics stutter around the outside. He explains that ‘Full Metal’ was “the first bit of music that I made after I had surgery. I broke my collarbone in four pieces so I had to get a metal plate put in.” ‘Full Metal’ is taken from Sal Dulu’s upcoming album, Nafuchsia In Fantasy, which drops on November 15th, 2024. -Dan Peeke
